Route Notes BC at 50m from crowded normal site ABC at glacier, below South Ridge, on its east side C1 at junction of South and SE Ridge C2 at South Ridge - bived in on 19th Oct. Australians got up 6700m on 19th Oct and decided ridge wouldn't go and went down to biv at 6450m. Next summit party of 3 men. Aussies decided to make their own try. Morton turned back on 20th not feeling well, thus enabling Findlay and Barnes to make camp at site too small for 3-man camp. Summiters left low C2 at 4 am and were on summit at 12:00 and 12:15 noon. Used Japanese ropes and put in 100m of ropes above theirs. Series of sharp arretes just below summit.
