| Route Notes | ABC at bottom of ridge C1 at top of ridge Biv col of east ridge (just below it). C2 was biv with no tent, 2 in crevasse. From this biv Cleary and Bryan went to top at 12:05 and 12:20 pm respectively and on 5th other 2 climbing members started up but Albert very sick (alt sickness apparently) and returned to biv and still ill, Albert descended with previous day's summiters escorting him as far as C1 and to BC with Czechs; his toes started freezing at biv. Comerie went to summit alone at 1:15 pm and slept at biv. Cleared mountain of equipment on 8th. More technical than expected. Summit ridge had changed from earlier years and so had icefall. |
