Route Notes BC at normal site Biv1 at top of rocky ridge on SE Face. High point at bivouac. Always steep ice so had to belay and thus very slow. Ice not hard enough to hold ice axe. From ABC moved up gear and rope 200m/day average and down to ABC to sleep each night until 8th May, when bivouacked at 6200m (all 4 climbers together). Snowfall every afternoon and that could not see wall. Foerster's fingers got frostbitten while putting up tent at bivouac. 9th down because morning cloudy, lightning previous night and ice conditions bad; at 5800-5900m rock falling.
