| Route Notes | BC at normal site near lake C1 at top of rib C2 on SE Face High point at SE Face. During night at C2 wakened by falling serac every 2 hours coming from route above camp via chute. Would have to move very fast across this area which would not have been able to do. So on 8th Nov after going up a bit to take pictures went down and climbing finished. Additional factor was the wind. This was self-supporting group of friends on very limited budget. As they approached BC, they met same climbers coming away who spoke of technical difficulty on Pumori and found in BC area memorials to climbers who had died on it. This was rather unsettling. |
