Route Notes BC at Gorak Shep BC at small lake west of Kalapattar High point at SW Ridge. Brevik left party 1 April because already "uncomfortable" at altitude of 1st BC and no reason to stay. From 2nd BC, 2 members carried loads for C1 and 1 reached very nearly to its site. Climbed along east side of ridge beyond Pt 5628 and finally on this ridge. Ljoen turned back at 5700m because of altitude and Rosvoll at 6000m because very tired. Olsen was there in 2nd BC with problems of altitude, head cold and stomach trouble. All 3 stayed in BC. Rosvoll waited to try more climbing but other 2 did not and would not let him climb alone, so climb abandoned 8th April. Route climbed was not difficult except for loose stones, but above 6000m would be difficult knife-edge snow ridge with steep sides to point 6186m.
