Route Notes BC at bottom of big lake C1 at glacier at top rock rib due south of point 6576m High point at SE Rib. After BC, 5 days acclimatizing, then started climbing. After reaching site for C1 on 21st, came down to biv at 6000m because of dense fog and snow threatened. Down to BC 19th, 21st in good weather BC to C1 where slept. 22nd summit bid; reached 6950m, where was big serac and crevasse which stopped climb via East Ridge. Returned to C1 and 23rd to BC and climb finished because permit only for this route. High point reached by 2 members; 2 others, Stocker and Stricker, stopped 6780m. Thought they were on normal route. Left BC 24 Jan.
