| Route Notes | BC at 1 hour beyond Gorak Shep High point at bottom of face. 6th May at BC till 11 pm when had breakfast and set out at midnight for line had picked out, but saw 2 avalanches came off it on E Face. Decided to have closer look, reached foot of E Face at 2:30 am having seen another avalanche on the way there. Waited for light for good look and then saw upper part of face was bare ice with big threatening seracs and avalanche cone below. Decided exposure to big seracs too risky on bare ice too slow to climb; never took out crampons and rope. Left BC 8 and 9 May. |
