Route Notes BC at planned site C1 under rocks on left side of glacier southwest of site marked on photo (on ridge from Kalapattar) C3 in ice on West Face (behind ridge). To C1 at 6150m very steep and in fact to C3 entire route is steep. Their information was all from Swiss account of their ascent in Aut 1978. Very nice route, very steep, rock to about C3, all snow and ice from C3 to top. No real problems but European 4-5 scale rock climbing. 1000m fixed rope installed up to C3 from C1 including all of route from C2 to C3. Had beautiful weather every day until 27 April when were clearing camps after end of climb, it snowed. Doctor's mildly frostbitten toes from summit push; no accidents or serious illness. 4 members and 1 Sherpa to top on 23 and 26 April 23rd - Wippler, Rainer, Kienpointner 26th - Haid Ang Lhakpa, 23, Khunde Rainier frostbitten toes of both feet expedition left BC 28 April.
