Route Notes BC near Everest BC. Climbing style was 2 men fixing rope and descending, next day 2 other men put tent as camp at top of ropes and so on - hence so many camps. Had problem with ice which was too soft in warm weather and broke off so had to go onto rock face (and climbers were specialists). Made direct line up rock to their C5 in very difficult climb on rock in bad weather: too cloudy to defrost fixed rope till late morning. Didn't have enough rock pitons. Then when got to ridge thought would be easy walk to top but found as remaining serious rock obstacle and no pitons and rope left for this job.
