| Route Notes | Inoue and Obata were clients of Shinji Tamura. Presume other Japanese were clients of Hiroyuki Kuraoka. Report from Shinji Tamura; Approach: Khumjung, Phortse, Lobuje EBC 13/05 5350m (Everest BC) C1 16/05 6100m (Pumori C1) Hpt 17/05 6300m by Inoue, Namgyal Sherpa, Rita Sherpa. When they reached their high point the fixed rope, which was put in by Dawa Steven a few weeks before, was frozen into the ice. There was quite a bit of fresh snow. They decided to abandon the expedition as there was no fixed rope and the mountain would have been too technical for Inoue. They descended to Everest Base Camp the same day and left BC on 18/05 walking to Pheriche Sherpas above BC: 2 Oxygen: Taken and used from C1 to high point to C1 by Inoue. |
