| Route Notes | BC 07/10 5300m ABC 09/10 5500m C1 11/10 6000m HPt 12/10 6200m on W Face of Pumori Alex Suarez & Angel Salamanca. Climb abandoned on May 15 due to Alex Suarez apparent pulmonary edema. Intended a new line on the left side of the West Face which team didn't try eventually. During an attempt on common attack to 2001 Steck/Buehler route on October 12, Alex Suarez got an apparent pulmonary edema begining. “First friends and after mountains” says Salamanca. No evacuation nor rescue organized, both just walked back down to BC. 3 days later was decided that expedition was finished. Team left BC Oct 16. Fixed rope: None Oxygen: Not taken, not used |
