Route Notes C2 18/01 6150m C3 19/01 6480m (shoulder) Smt 20/01 by all members and Sherpas at around noon. Route: a bit to the right of the NE Ridge. Fixed rope: 600m to C2 (rest was climbed in alpine style). On 18 Jan Sadpara, Txikon, Temba Bhote, Pasang, Walung, Nuri and Chhepal moved from Everest BC to Pumori C2. The route to from Pumori BC and C2 had been fixed by Nuri, Ali Sapara and Temba Bhote previously. It took them 5 hours to get from Ever BC to Pumori C2. From C2 to C3 they climbed in alpine style, meaning they moved on a rope together and fixed it in places. On 20 Jan, they left C3 at 5 am. Txikon was surprised by the technical difficulties this route posed. It was between 40 and 45 degrees, some parts even 65 degrees. There were many crevasses, most of which he thinks would be open and unsurpassable in spring or autumn. They were able to get across all crevasses without the use of ladders. One crevasse just below C3 was just manageable and required a lot of commitment to cross it. There is also a crevasse on the summit. They spent about 30 minutes on the summit and descended all the way back to Everest BC, where they arrived at 5 pm.
