Route Notes BC 15 Sep 5300m, 1-1/2 hours outside Gorak Shep at lake ABC 19 Sep 5700m, behind Kalapattar HPt 27 Sep 6100m by de Sainte Marie On 19 Sept de Sainte Marie stayed the night at ABC at 5700m and descended to BC on 20 Sept. On 21 Sept de Sainte Marie carried his gear to ABC and stayed the night. On 22 Sept he climbed up a ridge behind a Kalapattar, where he reached the very top, which was about 6200m. He left ABC at 8:30 am and got to the top of the ridge at 11:30 am. He stayed up there for half an hour to wait for better weather, but it did not really clear. He skied down the ridge (the upper slope was about 55 degrees) and arrived at ABC about half an hour later. Rufibach filmed him from ABC and the two descended to BC, where de Sainte Marie stayed for two nights. On 27 Sept de Sainte Marie went back to ABC to attempt Pumori. On 28 Sept, he left ABC at 6 am. It was pretty cloudy and visibility was not very good. When he reached a serac at 6100m, he decided to turn back as the weather and snow conditions were too bad to carry on. He thinks that the face does not get enough sun and the snow was just too hard. From his high point he skied down to ABC. On 29 Sept he carried his gear to BC and left BC on 30 Sept. Rufibach reached 5800m on 22 Sept and 27 Sept. He never intended to climb to the summit as he was employed as cameraman. Holding reached 5700m on 18 Sept. He had back problems and left expedition on 23 Sept.
