Route Notes Email from Mark and Lorraine Woodward - Oct 22, 2008 We had a great time but unfortunately were unsuccessful on the mountain due to other outside influences. However conditions were very good, there had been no avalanches or any new snowfalls and the route look "on" the weather had been very consistent too. Gary was having a little difficulty with the altitude and had pressure from his work to return home due to the financial markets collapsing. Email from Mark & Lorraine Woodward - 25 Oct 2008 We members only got as high as 6000m on the 8th, just below our C1 location as the fixed ropes hadn't been set much higher. On the 9th the Sherpas wre trying to fix to C1 but had some difficulty getting past the shrund below the ridge where C1 was to be set (6150m). So also on the 9th as we were having a rest day, Gary decided that he wanted to abort the climb. We discussed many options but in the end it was easier to all go out together. Felt very tempted to go and solo it and conditions were as good as it can get. Fixed rope: 400-500m (removed before leaving mountain). Sherpas: Rita Dorje Sherpa, 24/10/77, Phortse, Everest X3 Ram Chandra Sunuwar, 13/4/68 (1/1/2025), Khijiphalate-1, Okhaldhunga, no 8000ers
