Route Notes The expedition members climbed up to 6200m for acclimatization and descended to BC on 13 Oct. They planned to go up to C2 next day. Accordingly, four Sherpas Ang Zangbu of Denicola team, Phurba Thundu of Austrian Einwaller, Lhakpa Nurbu and Temba Wongdi of Japanese Hayashi team, went up to put fix line on 14th. The four Sherpas were at about 6500m (C2). The avalanche occured around 12:30 hours and swept the Sherpas. Denicola who was watching the avalanche from BC went up to see if anybody alive. He found the dead body of Phurba Thundu at about 5300m and no trace of other Sherpas. The expedition team returned to Kathmandu on 19 Oct and will leave on 26th.
