Route Notes BC above Gorak Shep, between big and little lake NE of Kalapattar C1 at SE Face below high glacier C2 just below col on South Ridge High point at South Ridge. 1 Nov Sheen and Rippel left C1 to establish route to C2, fixed rope 400m to 6300m all the way, left gear there and returned to C1 to sleep. 2 Nov they went to high point to bring down gear and rope. Abandoned climb because only 2 strong climbers, summit push from C1 extremely long day and dangerous and no supporting climbers; furthermore getting down to -25 degrees at night and wind. Slept in BC night of 2nd, where all others were and wanted to leave. Garvin never reached BC; got chest infection on approach march. Lambarson left 2nd Nov, had not acclimatized, but now climbing over. Rollert went to ABC only, had bad headache, stayed until team left BC. Woodward - mountain was too much for him, went just above ABC and left 28th Oct.
