Route Notes Approach: Jeep to Koto, 4-day trek to BC via Meta and Phu, Kulung Kharka Nagoru East: BC 10/03 4450m (Kulung Kharka) HC 12/03 4950m (Nagoru East) Smt 15/03 by Mahrenholtz and Quincke at 10 am. On 12/03, the team climbed to high camp of Nagoru East and on 13/03 they started towards Nagoru Central. Mahrenholtz and Quincke reached 5900m; Volle and Voglic reached 5800m. They were not properly acclimatised and there was a lack of time so they decided to turn back. They returned to their high camp and stayed the night. On 14/03 they decided to try Nagoru East (6116m). On 15/05, they left high camp at 3:30 am. It was cold and the terrain was very rocky. At about 6000m there was a 30m scramble (1st to 2nd degree). The last few metres was a glacier, but the team managed to circumnavigate it without needing crampons. Mahrenholtz and Quincke summited at around 10 am. Volle and Voglic turned back at 5700m at 8 am. They did not like the terrain and were too tired. They descended to high camp and waited for Mahrenholtz and Quincke who arrived at 2 pm. The team packed up and descended to BC the same day. Pokharkhang (NE Ridge): On 16/03, rest day. On 17/03 the ascended to Pokharkhang ABC and rested there on 18/03 and on 19/03 they ascended via the rocky NE ridge and gained the glacier at about 5600m. They ascended the glacier for another 100m and set up their high camp there. ABC 17/03 4930m (not the usual ABC at 5020m as it was still snowy) HC 19/03 5700m (on glacier) Summit attempt: On 20/03 Volle, Mahrenholtz and Quincke left high camp at 5 am. The team reached 5950m, but Quincke felt altitude sickness and the team turned back and joined Volle at high camp. She did not leave for the summit attempt due to tonsilitis. They packed up their gear and descended to ABC where they arrived at noon and spent the night. On 21/03 they left ABC and descended to BC. Left BC on 22/03 by trekking to Koto. Sherpas above BC: 0 Oxygen: Not taken, not used
