Route Notes BC at Kangchung south of Nangpa La ABC north of BC on glacier C1 on ice and rock face C2 on ice and rock face C3 on top of this face on ridge. To C1 very steep ice & rock face; to C2 many ice towers. 4th Oct attacked summit but needed more rope; rope in BC and members had no time to fetch rope. On 5th same 2 members [Kim and Choung] & 2 Sherpas again tried from C3. Ridge was rock ridge, very sharp but not steep - much wind. On 5th reached 7000m at 3:00 pm. Sherpas to ABC at 9 pm & 2 members slept in C2 at 6 pm (did not bivouac as per Tourism Ministry report). Were 3 peaks for team to climb; they went over 1st & 2nd but would have to go down first & then up on highest of 3 peaks. 7000m high point was 2nd peak; beyond was "big hole" to 3rd peak & very deep snow. Leader wants to bring expedition again this winter with different members.
