Route: ENE Face (normal route, Japanese had used left glacier) Fixed rope: None On the 15 Oct, the summit quartet went back down to C1 for sleeping. On the 16 Oct back to BC. Since the weather forecast announced a coming storm with a meter of snow, guides wanted the team to leave the mountain on the next day. The route was technically not demanding (maximum 35-40° slopes) and in excellent conditions (no crevasses). So that the climbers didn't require crampons or piolets (just ropes in the bags in case of), and could nicely play with their skis instead. It's the first ski ascent and descent of Panbari. Altitude of the summit was measured at 6983m with Annequin's GPS (7m precision). When Damien Tomasi attempted South Pillar of Panbari, Annequin like him weren't aware that this pillar was leading to the most western of the summits of the mountain. The team also climbed 2 little bumps above the plateau, one at 6480m, the other at a little below 6600m. The storm which came from 17 Oct basically reduced the time of the expedition, damaging the acclimatization plan of the team, so that only a few members of the team could summit. No member left BC before the end of the expedition. Left BC on 17 Oct.
