| Route Notes | Information about this team's climb is chiefly from Damian Benegas on Everest, who reported that they were seen on about 10 May climbing from their C1 at 6100m to the West Shoulder to about 6500m, then down the mountain's West Ridge to Gorak Shep, where they had their BC. Benegas said the two men seen were probably Gukov and Moldozhen. A week later the same two climbers were seen on the Nuptse's North Face. They were 200 meters from the bergschrund, which is at 6500m, and then rappelling down onto hard ice. They abandoned their attempt on Nuptse when one member fell sick. They had no Sherpas with them, not even a BC cook, and no artificial oxygen. |
