| Route Notes | On 22 May and 23 May Williams was fixing rope. High point team left C3 at 7 am to fix rope. Weather on 23 May was calm, sunny and hot. When they got to high point where rib meets the face at 1 pm, Williams decided to turn back due to bad snow conditions. They also did not have enough rope to fix. They descended to C3, arrived at 3:30 pm. On 24 May Hesser descended to BC. Williams and Leonard spent night at C1. Williams helped Sherpas and Morton a bit with Pemba Doma's body between C1 and BC. Fallon Vaughn left BC on 20 April; she reached about 5350m to first ladder of icefall, but never really intended to climb. During Robert Vaughn's Everest attempt, Williams and Hesser stayed at C2 to coordinate. Leonard stayed at BC to do dispatches and run BC. She joined Williams and Hesser at C2 at 19 May. |
