| Route Notes | BC at Yaligolja lake (normal site) C1 on glacier High point just below snow ridge. Tried alpine-style ascent from C1. Hung old fixed ropes on 13th May and all 4 members reached 5700m (below snow ridge) in dark (7:00 pm) and snow falling and bivouacked there: also high winds and lightening - "not a comfortable bivouac." 14th May to C1. 15th May night very high winds and lot of lightning, so on basis of all that we decided it was too difficult for our team and abandoned expedition and went trekking. More technical than expected: rock crumbling and somewhat steep; were carrying own loads and had no Sherpa helpers. |
