| Route Notes | BC as planned (6 Sept advanced team arrived). After C2 established much snowfall stalled progress. C2 to C3 most difficult: ice and snow very steep and sharp ridge. Fixed total 1400m rope. From C3 to top long time: 4:00 am to 12:30 midday because long distance and 3 overhangs. No time for another summit bid: flight home fixed. Think their route is same as Japanese '88 winter but are not sure about upper part, where Koreans traversed to West Ridge. |
