Route Notes Hitachi believes 1963 Japanese team did succeed: their account proved very accurate, time to reach top reasonable and description of top and rock just below accurate. Above BC traversed rock wall to its northwest. C1 beside rock ridge and C2 on rock ridge. C3 on snow ridge in snowhole because strong wind. Final assault from C3 via SW Ridge to top not so difficult. Difficulty between C2 and C3 ice and steep snow ridge. Winds were real problem: Hitachi wants to return to Nepal, but not again in winter.
Accidents Nashiba left BC on 25 Nov as planned (not climbing member)
