Route Notes BC 300m below spring 1985 Polish expedition C1 on centrol ridge of North Face (left side of ridge) C2 on this ridge or pillar below its top Polish spring 1985 C3 site, she thought (but spring expedition said 5600m) High point at 6200m traverse to West Ridge. Very deep snow made central ridge/pillar very different from spring 1985 as described by Polish expedition of that season not climbing but wading. Spring expedition fixed ropes 1 meter under snow. Turned back because of deep snow on 12 Nov. Had hoped to make alpine-style climb and move quickly but snow conditions made this impossible. Had many avalanches to left of their route and stones falling across route in its traverse towards West Ridge.
Accidents Some illness but not related to altitude: 1 heart problem, 1 serious infection requiring operation at BC; nothing else
