Route Notes BC at Lungsampa Glacier's west edge, NE of point 5360m C1 near "west" of black type Lungsampa C2 north (above) point 6515m on S Face C3 on SE Face of Ngojumba Kang I C4 on SE Face. 1st summit attack on 10th Feb, but very difficult with crevasses and icefall and strong wind and very cold; turned back at 7500m. 11th 6 am start from C4 and on top 4:30 pm (stayed 20 minutes for photos) and back in C4 7:20 pm. Had tried from Ngojumba top to go to Cho Oyu 1 hour and clouds coming with weather change and were told to return to C4. 12th 6 am Cho Oyu attack again tried but weather bad and returned from 7600m and down to C4 that day and on to BC 13th. All climbers to BC on 13th and 14th left BC. Total 2000m fixed rope (C1 to C3 and just below summit). Very very difficult: very steep-stone avalanching every day; rock band above C4. Only attempt to go to Cho Oyu was made on 12 Feb from Ngojumba summit.
