Route Notes On Aug 31, expedition leader Filippi injured in a fall and left by helicopter on Sept 1. Saikaly and Pasang Kaji tried again, this time hired another climbing Sherpa (Kusang Sherpa), but failed 3 times to reach ABC at 6050m. Gabriel Filippi fell while leading a rock face when climbing an overhang. As he transferred his weight and pull with his left hand, the rock in his hand broke loose from the wall sending him flying in the air. A free fall for approximately 40 meters, body was like a ragged doll smashing the wall 3 times and crashing at the bottom of the rock face.
