Route Notes Expedition had permit for Himlung but had no plan to climb it and went directly to Nemjung without permission. 1 Dec Hashimoto established C1 with 4 Sherpas, but only Hashimoto slept there. Hirata and 3 Sherpas joined Hashimoto in C1 on 3 Dec. 4th Dec Phurba and Lhakpa went up to make route but stopped at 5600m because many stones falling and cutting rope in couloir they were climbing: "very dangerous." 5th Dec Hirata and Phurba up to 5300m on same route to see situation and declared climbing abandoned and all down to BC. 4 Dec hit by stone but not hurt, just slipped down 25m. Intended to traverse over to East Ridge for final approach to top. Sherpas: Phurba Chiri/Chhiri, Saframa, Lokhim, 1968 summited Manaslu 1997 - brother of Lhakpa Chiri Lhakpa Chiri, same village on brother Phurba, 16/4/64, claims Manaslu 1990
