| Route Notes | Summit push 28 Sept 2022: On 28th Sept left BC 2 am and reached C1 around 3 hours later; stayed the night at C1. 29th Sept Left C1 at 6:40 am and went directly to C3, with a lunch stop at C2, then rested for about 5 hours at C3. 9 pm on 29th Oct left for summit. Arrived C4 around 5 hrs 30 mins later. Rested for about 20 mins. Left C4 at 3 am and reached summit at 9:20 am. Was extremely windy from C3 onwards. Approach to summit was fine, path was clear. The avalanche was below C4. From C3 to C4 50/60mph winds, and the trail was full of snow. The normal fixed line was really tight and it was difficult to jumar. Some places the snow was up to our hips. After C4 it was fine. Summit was clear. Descent was fine, sunny day. Did the Rowaling route to the true summit. Takes only a couple of minutes from the false summit on the traverse. Spent 30 mins on the summit, then descended and rArrived C4 around midday. Gathered there about 10 minutes only. Arrived at C3 on 30th Sept around 4/5 pm. Spent night at C3. Next day headed to BC after breakfast. Back to BC on 1 Oct around 11 am. Rested there 2 days. Left BC on 4 Oct by heli to Samagaon. From Samagaon to Arkhet by heli, then Arkhet to Ktm by heli. Oxygen: Used from C3 onwards until back to C3. Manish Maharjan Facebook: Made it to the summit of the world's 8th highest Mountain Manaslu on 30th Sept at 9:00 am. Once again Thank you to Tashi Lakpa Sherpa dai 14 Peaks Expedition/Seven Summit Treks for this big opportunity. Also did the summit with worlds youngest 16 years to climb Manaslu Nimrin Sherpa who is on target to do 14 peaks. He will be the first teenager to complete the 14 peaks. This season weather was a big challenge, lots of climbers already gave up. We fall under the very few people to do the summit this season. We started our summit push from camp 1 early morning and rested a few hours in camp 3 and started walking at night 9:00 pm for the summit. The weather was not good when we reached camp 4 at 2:00 am. We decided to wait there for a few minutes and decide whether to go up or down. Giving up was not an option. We barely could feel our cheeks because of the high wind. Our summit day was planned by Tashi Lakpa Sherpa and the weather was confirmed to be good. Slowly we started to move despite the wind, slowly the sun rose and the weather was good. We successfully did the summit and returned back to Manaslu base camp. Almost all the members from 14 Peaks Expedition were successful for the summit. |
