| Route Notes | Report from Naoko Watanabe: Arrive at BC on 22 Sept. Watanabe and Tenjin started a first summit push on 28 Sept, but when they reached C4 it was too windy and they returned to C3 where they stayed another night before they started their second summit attempt. Summit push from C3 (6700m) 29 Sept at 3:30 pm. Deep snow, high winds and Tenjin opened the route again after the avalanche. Hence the long summit push! Main Summit 30 Sep 7:10 am with Tenjin Sherpa, then descended to C3. Reached BC on 1 Oct. Left BC on 2 Oct by helicopter. Oxygen: From C3 to top to C3 by Tenjin and Watanabe. Sherpa: Tenjin Sherpa (Montere Lama), climbed Lhotse with Watanabe in 2022. Report from Antonina Samoilova: Approach: Heli to BC from KTM BC 14/09 4850m C1 18/09 C2 19/09 6300m C3 01/10 6650m HPt 02/10 6650m by Antonina, Sona Sherpa Decided to abandon climb due to bad conditions and avalanche danger. Spent two nights at C3 from 01-03/10. On 03/10 descended from C3 to C2. From C2 heli to Samagaon and on to KTM the same day. Oxygen: Taken, not used. Hired: Sona Sherpa (C3) |
