Route Notes BC 10/09 4850m C1 16/09 5600m C2 21/09 6300m C3 22/09 6720m C4 29/09 7400m Smt 30/09 by Weinand, Klocke, Weissengruber, Herndl, Taubmann, von Melle, Stitzinger, Pema and Jangbu at 12:45 pm. Summit team and Lhakpa left C4 at 4:30 am. There were seven other people on the route. Straightforward climb. They stayed about 45 minutes to an hour on the summit and descended to C4, where they arrived at 4 pm. Lhakpa Sherpa had cold hands and turned back at around 7800m and descended to C4. On 1 Oct, everyone apart from Stitzinger and Schumann back to BC. Schumann was feeling very exhausted and Stitzinger and Schumann slept at C1. Stummer-Jovanvic and Strohhaeusl reached BC. They were suffering from the flu (it had spread through the hole team). They left BC on 13 Sept. Selig to C1. He suffered from the same flu and abandoned the expedition. Bogenschuetz and Metzler to C2. Metzler also had the flu and Bogenschuetz had to leave the expedition due to personal reasons. Grabner and Schumann to C4. Grabner had lost his motivation and Schumann was too exhausted to carry on. Team left BC on 3 Oct; 5 Oct by helicopter from Samagaon. Oxygen: Not taken, not used by any members (except Schumann) Schumann from C3 to C2 on the descent due to exhaustion. Sherpas: Pema Nuru (Paiya, Jubing-7, 27/01/1975 Jangbu Sherpa, Kharikhola, 10/09/1979 Lhakpa Sherpa (Pema Nuru’s nephew)
