Route Notes BC 13/09 4700m C1 17/09 5800m C2 23/09 6400m C3 24/09 6800m C4 30/09 7400m Smt 01/10 by Pircher, Krause, Schroeder, Schwab, Jangbu Sherpa at 10 am Smt 02/10 by Pemba Nuru Sherpa, Mueller at 5:30 am. 1 Oct summit team left C4 at 3 am. When they left camp, they saw Zoltan Benedek and Jean-Luc Bremond from Dan Mazur's team in their tent and they were still Ok. Straightforward climb. They spent about 5 minutes on the summit. Krause and Schroeder descended to C2, where they arrived at 2 pm. Pircher, Schwab and Jangbu descended to C1. On 1 Oct everyone was back at BC. Mueller and Pemba Nuru left C4 at 12:30 am on 2 Oct. Straightforward climb. Spent about 15 minutes on the summit. On their descent they stopped at C4, where they arrived at 7:40 am. Fessmann and Tuechler, who had not left for the summit, had given Bremond oxygen as he was suffering from altitude. His teammate Benedek had died already. Mueller alerted Seven Summit Treks to send up Sherpas to help Bremond go down. One of Seven Summit climbing Sherpas came up at 10 am and picked up Bremond. Mueller accompanied them to C3, where they arrived at noon. Bremond was picked up by helicopter from C3, Mueller carried on to C2, where he stayed the night. Bogenschuetz and Libera reached 7850m on their summit attempt on 1 Oct. They both had cold feet and turned back to C4, where they rested and then descended to C1. Fessmann and Tuechler reached C4 on 1 Oct. They did not leave for the summit push as they were too cold. Schmitt-Frister reached 7000m on 1 Oct. She abandoned climb as she was not feeling well. Thomsen reached C3 on 30 Sept. He had a bad cough and descended to BC. Zumstein reached C3 on 24 Sept. He was not feeling well and decided to abandon expedition and left BC on 26 Sept.
