Route Notes BC 14/09 4700m C1 16/09 5800m C2 17/09 6400m C3 -- 7000m (deposit) HPt 24/09 7000m on col by Morneva, Chatur Tamang. Team left BC for summit push on 22 Sept. Conditions on the mountain were precarious. Lots of windslab. More crevasses between BC and C2 than in previous years. On 24 Sept team climbed to C3 (on the col). Fixed rope was sketchy above C2. Team reached C3 at 8 am on 24 Sept. Their tent, five bottles of oxygen and 9 Epi-gas cans were gone. They were devastated and looked for the equipment for 8 hours. At 4 pm they descended to C2, where they stayed the night. On 25 Sept they left C2 at 3 am and reached BC at noon. As they knew that the expedition was over they had packed up all their camps and took them down.
