Route Notes BC 09/09 4700m C1 15/09 5400m C2 17/09 6300m C3 --- C4 24/09 7400m Smt 26/09 by Liang & Nima Gyalzen at 2:58 pm, Ma & Kaji Sherpa at 1:49 pm. Summit team, Han and Mingma Gyalje left C4 at 7 am on 26 Sept. The reason they left so late was that it was very windy (about 50 km/h). Yoshimasa Sasaki from Japan, who was with the same trekking agency, but not in the same team, stayed at C4 as he was not feeling well. When they were on the way up, Hans's Sherpa, Mingma Gyalzen, received a radio call that Sasaki fell down near C4 on his way down and that help was needed. Han and Mingma Gyalzen descended to C4 where they arrived at 6 pm. However, it was too late and Sasaki had already died. Han and Minmga Gyalzen spent the night at C4. Ma and Kaji spent about 4 minutes on the summit. Kaji wanted to get back down quickly to help Sasaki. Liang and Nima Gyalzen spent about 20 minutes on the summit. The summit team reached C4 at about 6:10 pm and spent the night there. On 27 Sept everyone descended to BC.
