Route Notes BC 12 Sep 4800m C1 14 Sep 5700m C2 18 Sep 6400m C3 01 Oct 6900m C4 02 Oct 7400m HPt 02 Oct 7400m Frittella, Molignoni, Rixi, Vaira, Virgilio, Nima, Mingma Tenzi, Mingma Temba Team wanted to leave for the summit at 12:30 am. During the night the wind was too strong (about 120 km). No visibility. At about 8 am they descended to BC, where they arrived at 8 pm. Vaira did not feel well on the way down. He had no strength left in his legs. He took the team's emergency oxygen to descend to BC. Cavallo reached C3 on 1 Oct. He stayed the night and descended to C2 on the next day. It was his goal to get to C3 and never intended to go higher. Ratti reached 7000m on 2 Oct. He was too slow and his legs were tired and so he turned back to C3, where he picked up Cavallo. They descended to C2 together, where they stayed the night. On 3 Oct they descended to BC. Oxygen: Emergency oxygen taken and used by Vaira from C4 to BC Sherpas: Mingma Tenzi, Yaphu-9, Makalu-Barun, 07/11/1984 Mingma Temba, Yaphu-9, Makalu-Barun, 19/01/1980 Nima, Sungdel-7, Khotang, 28/07/1978
