Seven Summit Sherpas fixed the rope to the summit just in front of Hancock. Straightforward climb, no long delays. They spent about 15 minutes on the summit. Hancock was very cold as he had lost his down suit and other high-altitude clothing in the avalanche on 23 Sept. They descended to C4, where they arrived at 2 pm and stayed the night. The following day they descended to BC. On 22 Sept he did a carry to C3 and left his high-altitude gear in a tent. He did not stay the night as he wanted to go back to BC to rest for the summit attempt; otherwise he would have been caught in the avalanche. He lost all his gear though. After Manaslu he went trekking in Mustang. Sherpa: Pemba, Makalu |
