Route Notes C3 not slept in High point at C3 site. On 30 September, Quintero and Wilke went to the site for C3 at 6800m as part of their acclimatization program. They left some gear, but did not sleep there. On 1 October they were down in BC. Bad weather now set in with heavy snowfall. On the 5th they decided to go back up the mountain. However, as they got 20 meters below their C1 at 5800m, an avalanche came down. It did not hit them, but they immediately descended to BC and did not venture above it again.
