Route Notes Francoise Dantal stopped at C1 because the stress of the avalanche, he was feeling very bad. On the 26th waited at base camp. Jacques Dantal left C4 at 2:45 am and arrived at summit at 7:15 am, stayed on summit for 20 minutes, left summit at 7:45 am, slept at C2 at 7:00 pm. He left C2 on the 31st at 8:00 am and arrived at BC 1:00 pm. Ducerf stopped at C1 because he knew Remy and they were close friends and he decided not to go to the summit because he lost Remy as a friend (lived very close to Remy); he could have gone to summit as he was on good shape. On 28 September at 10:30 am Narcy turned around because he passed the accident scene and saw the remnants from accident. Riveros climbed with Jacques Dantal. Sherpas: Mingma Tenjing Sherpa, (2049/2/28) 10/6/92, Phortse Mingma Tshering/Chhiring, (2029/1/14) 26/4/72, Phortse Mingma Dorje, (2037/5/14) 30/8/80, Makalu-5 Note: Aldo Riveros web site gives summit time as 10:15 (sun angle confirms this); web site has photos showing two Sherpas on the summit (Ministry lists Mingma Tenjing and Mingma Tshering as summiters). One photo appears to be Mingma Tenjing. Only Dantal used oxygen.
