Route Notes Very strong climber, said Joie Seagram (a Canadian on Manaslu with same agency). Danny Gordin (email) - 9 Jan 2014 Regarding my 2012 Manaslu climb: - I arrived to BC (4800m) on 11 Sept and left on 2 Oct. - I set C1 (5750m) on 15 Sept, C2 (6200m) on 20 Sept, C3 (6900m) on 29 Sept and C4 (7450m) on 30 Sept. - I reached fore-summit at 10:40 am on 1 Oct. (where I met last 6 people - 2 guided groups of 4 + 2 - descending from the summit) and true top of Manaslu (end of fixed line - ~2-3m distance from the summit mushroom) at 11:15 am. - I climbed without oxygen and with no climbing Sherpas. My climbing partners (Paul Hudson (Australian) and Manuel Morgado (Brazil)) stayed that morning in C4 for another day and eventually were not able to summit :-( - I was surprised to see from your update that I was the last person to summit Manaslu that season (because the weather seemed to stay stable for several more days and there were several groups in BC and on the mountain planning to summit later) - Some notable details: 1) It is my first 8000m summit (and also first 8000m attempt) 2) I became the first person from Israel to reach 8000m+ summit without oxygen 3) I became the first person from Israel to summit Manaslu 4) My crampons started to malfunction during descent from the summit to C4, I had to remove my mitten several times to fix it and got light frostbite on my fingertips.
