Route Notes Snow and wind from the fatal avalanche on 23 September hit Tharumalingam's tent at C2, and the tent with him in it rolled over four times. He managed to jump out of the tent as it continued to move down the mountain side; he was now about 10 meters below his camp's site at 6500m. He had one Sherpa with him on the climb, whom he knew as Mingma and who rushed to his side. Neither man was injured. They descended to BC that day, the 23rd. Mingma did not want to stay on Manaslu, and left immediately. Tharumalingam asked Asian Trekking to send him another Sherpa. The new man was Tshering Phinjo, who said climbing high on Manaslu was impossible, so Tharumalingam abandoned his bid to summit it. On 28 September, the two went to C1 only to bring it down. They returned to BC on the 29th and left on the 30th. Sherpas: Mingma's full name is Mingma Dorje Sherpa, but he is also known as just Mingma, DOB 1/10/77 (15/6/2034), from Thamo, Khumbu, summited Everest X3, Cho Oyu X2, Manaslu X1 Tshering Phinjo, 2/4/73, Khumjung, Everest X3, Manaslu X2
