Route Notes Mondinelli, Nuru Wangchu, Chiesa, Oiarzabal, Botta, Magliano, Salvatore and Dalla Rosa left C4 at 2 am. It was very windy. Magliano literally went back to his tent immediately as it was too windy. Dalla Rosa walked for about 1-1/2 hours and got too cold and turned back at about 7600m. Salvatore reached 7850m after 3 hours, but got too cold and turned back. [After summiting] Mondinelli and Nuru returned to C4 where they arrived at 9 am; Chiesa and Sonam Dorje also got back at 9 am. Botta arrived at C4 at 11 am to tell Sonam that Oiarzabal was in trouble near the summit (he was blind and exhausted). Sonam took oxygen from a Japanese expedition and ascended to Juanito to assist him down to C2, where Oiarzabal and Botta and 3 Sherpas spent the night. All other members had descended to BC in the mean time. On 6 Oct Mondinelli went back to above C1 to assist Oiarzabal on his descent. They arrived back at BC at noon. Oxygen: Chiesa and Sonam Dorje from C3 to summit to C3. Oiarzabal used emergency oxygen at about 8000m. Sherpas: Nuru Wangchu Sherpa, Pangboche, 18/8/77 (2/5/2034), Everest X6, Cho Oyu X3 (Baruntse in 2008 with Mondinelli, Everest in 2011) Sonam Dorje Sherpa, Pangboche 18/1/86 (5/10/2042), brother of Nuru Everest, Everest X3, Cho Oyu X2, Manaslu X1
