| Route Notes | Tsang notes that he and his Sherpa made a "fast ascent. Nothing happened, so we moved." The weather was good and acclimatization went well. They established BC on 26 September, occupied C1 on the 28th, C2 on the 29th, C3 on the 30th and went to the top on 1 October. He and Pasang Dawa left C3 at 7:00 am on 1 October and were on the summit at 12:00 noon. They stayed close together on the entire climb. They were buffeted occasionally by gusts of wind at 50 km/hr but carried steadily on. They descended to C2 at 4 pm and the next day were back in BC. Both Tsang and Pasang Dawa used oxygen in C3, to the summit, to and in C2. Sherpa: Pasang Dawa, 16/6/80, Khumjung, Everest X2 |
