Route Notes Summit team left C4 at 6 am, very windy. Arrived at summit at 12:45 pm, spent about half hour on real summit, then descended to BC where they arrived at 10:30 pm. Perez reached C2 on 25 Sept, stayed one night during acclimatization. On summit push he started off with Pauner, but turned back before C1 as he had an inflammation of his throat. Sherpa: Pasang Temba, 20/1/83, Tashigaon, Makalu-5, Sankhuwasabha, Everest Non-summiting members: Oiarzabal went up to C1 on 21 September and stayed there two nights, descended to BC on the 23rd, and left the expedition on the 24th because of a prior commitment in Argentina. Pauner and Perez, his cameraman, left immediately after Pauner had summited. Pauner had no time to stay longer and saw no reason to do so. Perez left with him. Arias - 4 November, 2010 Arias and his client, Llantada, stayed on the mountain and made their own bid for the summit. They climbed up to C4 on 5 October and left C4 for the top at 8:00 am the next day. Llantada got to 7600m and then turned back to C4 because he was climbing too slowly. Arias carried on up alone. But on the the 4th, new snowfall had deposited deep fresh loose snow on the route, and wind had covered all tracks of previous climbers; indeed, it obliterated Arias's own tracks on the 6th immediately after he had plunged his feet into the snow. He made some effort to find a new route, but he became "very, very tired," and his tracks behind him quickly disappeared; he decided it was not possible to go higher alone. He stopped at 7800m at 11:00 am. He returned to C4 at 12:00 noon, rested briefly, and then he and Llantada descended all the way to BC, where they arrived at 8:30 pm. They left BC on the 8th. Arias stayed on in Nepal, flew back to Kathmandu from Lukla on 4 November, and stayed one night in Hotel.
