Route Notes Richard Bolt, Lal Bahadur Tamang and Lama Kancha left C2 at 5:30 am. The weather was cold and windy. Lal Bahadur Tamang and Lama Kancha stopped at C3 [traditional C4 site] as it was too cold for them. They arrived there at 8:30 am and two Sherpas stayed at C3 and waited for Bolt to summit. Bolt carried on to the summit. He went all the way to the summit along the cornice. He spent about 5 minutes on the summit and he was completely on his own. Bolt descended first to C3, where the two Sherpas were waiting for him. He got there at about 2 pm and the three descended all the way to base camp at 7:30 pm. The next day they descended to Samagaon and Bolt took a helicopter back to Kathmandu. Spoden and Stoll reached 7600m, just above C3 on 30 Sept. Together with Bolt they were attempting the summit, but as they were climbing without oxygen it was too cold and they turned back. Bolt descended to BC that day and Spoden and Bolt stayed the night at C1. Thomas Bolt, Leuthold, Roth and Winistoerfer reached C2 (6650m) on 23 Sept. They spent the night there. Nobody of the group felt well at this altitude and abandoned expedition. Apart from Richard Bolt, everyone in the group is walking out via the Larkya La. Oxygen: Not taken, not used Hired: Lama Kancha, Chhulemu, Taksindu, 17/01/1974, Cho Oyu in 2004 Lal Bahadur Tamang, 21/6/83 (7/3/2040), Ramche-6, Rasuwa, no 8000ers These two also worked with Steve Marolt's team which was on the same permit.
