| Route Notes | Summit bid was made by just two members and a Sherpa: Mansikka, Watroba and Pasang Gombu Sherpa. They left C4 on 27 September at 2:00 am. Watroba and Pasang Gombu were on the top at 10:30 am and Mansikka followed at 11:00 am (they actually stopped two meters below the summit). They descended to C3 that day and were back in BC on the 28th. Non-summiting members: Faluotico got to C3 on 25 September, then ran out of energy and motivation and went all the way down to BC the next day. Crampton descended with Faluotico. Ilacqua went only as far as C1 on 15 September, failed to acclimatize, and went back to BC on the 16th. Savage got as high as C2 on 24 September, had no energy or motivation to continue, descended to BC the next day. Sherpa: Pasang Gombu, 21/3/62, Saframa, Lokhim-9, Solu, Cho Oyu X4 |
