Route Notes Moved to C1 then up to C2. 6 Oct to BC and much snowfall. 11 Oct up to C1. 11 Oct midnight with Dawa Wangchuk and Pasang Tenzing left C2 and reached end of fixed rope and stopped there at 11:23 am. Dawa, Wangchuk said this was Ok place to stop; it was very hard climb and she agreed this was good enough; down to C2 at 4:20 pm. 13th to BC - very cold, Oh's face got blue, but not frostbitten. Sherpas: Dawa Wangchuk, 17/12/72 (3/9/2029), Mathilow, Walung, Makalu-9, Kangch X3, Everest X3, etc Pasang Tenzing, 16/1/1971 [??], Upper Walung, Makalu, Indian Everest 2005 [??] Jeevan - 9 Nov 2008 I met Miss Oh with her Sherpa Dawa Wangchuk. They told me that on summit day 12 Oct Dawa Sherpa was way ahead of Miss Oh by about an hour. When Dawa arrived to the beginning of the couloir leading to the summit, he saw three ropes nearby. Dawa joined the ropes, two white of Korean made/50m each and one red rope of 50m and started fixing it on the route to summit of Manaslu. Dawa was in lead and they reached the summit. On the summit, there was white kata. Miss Oh reached near to the summit point maybe an arms length away, she did not step on the summit point, as she told Miss Hawley during her meeting. Kim Jae-Soo, leader of Kolon Sport Challenge Team Manaslu Expedition that includes Miss Go, both summited on 14 October, also mentioned about three ropes, which they too used on their summit day. Oh Eun-Sun - 20 March 2009 Miss Oh wanted to clarify her Manaslu climb on 12 October 2008. She explained that, although she did not actually stand on the summit, she was only one or two meters below it. She, Pasang Tenzing and Dawa Wangchuk went from C2 on 12 October for the top together. Pasang Tenzing stopped 10-20 meters below it; Dawa Wangchuk remained one meter below Miss Oh in order to take a photo of her on the top. She stopped 1-2 meters below it; she had surmounted a rock formation and was now very tired, and although it would not have been too difficult for her to go the final one-two meters, she stopped here. After having taken photographs, Dawa Wangchuk descended with her without going the last meters to the summit himself.
