| Route Notes | Tent at C2 moved to C3 and again to C4. Left C4 at 6:00 am with same of Brice's members; arrived at fore-summit at 12:30 pm with Brice members. Stopped at fore-summit because their rope had been fixed by Brice's Sherpas below fore-summit, they were not on oxygen, not fully acclimatized, tired and snow conditions beyond fore-summit not good to climb without rope (cornices), so back to C4 to sleep at 3:45 pm. 4th Oct to BC with all gear. Woolins snowblind in C2 when took off flagged goggles; blind for 2 days. Many teams stopped at fore-summit but claimed summit - also true of last spring, when Staartjes was on Manaslu, after expedition, none went to true summit. |
