Route Notes For summit push team left BC on 1 Oct. They were weating snowshoes. They left BC at 8:30 am and got to C1 at 2 pm. They had to dig for about 3 hours to find the tents that they had pitched on 15 Sept. Most of them were destroyed, but they had brought new tents. On 2 Oct they ascended to an intermediate camp at 6210m, put up deposit camp and descended to C1. On 3 Oct they ascended to C2. They left C1 at 6:15 am and arrived at intermediate camp at 9 am. It was easier than following day as they had broken trail the previous day. They reached C2 at noon and had to dig for another three hours to find the tents they had pitched on 21 Sept. They pitched another tent and left all their climbing gear (worth about 30,000 SFR) there as the weather forecast was good and they wanted to do another summit push. They did not carry on to summit as the winds were strong and they were tired. On same day 3 Oct they descended to BC. They left C2 at 3 pm and got to BC at 8:30 pm. It snowed again heavily from 5 Oct to 8 Oct. There was about 1 meter of new snow. On 8 Oct it became clear that another summit push would be impossible. On 8 Oct Boehm and Haag from German expedition ascended to C1 and rescued the Swiss climbing gear that was left at C1. No one made it to C2 anymore; all gear was lost. Everybody left BC on 8 Oct. On 29 Sept a huge blast from an avalanche hit BC at 9 am. It destroyed many tents from all expeditions. Part of team descended to Samagaon for one day as avalanche danger was too high. Between 23 Sept and 30 Sept it snowed more or less non-stop and it dumped about 2.5 meters fresh snow at BC. There was extreme avalanche danger on mountain all the time. The whole team moved together every day of expedition. "Sherpas": Pemba Tamang, Taksindu, Solu Pemba Norbu Sherpa, Lelep-9, Taplejung
