Route Notes BC at glacier's junction ABC at Chago Glacier C1 at Chago Glacier C2 above Makalu La High point at snow face. O2: By both members and Sherpa in & above C2. 24 Sept left C2 for summit: both members and Phurba Tshering Sherpa from C2 4:00 am and to 8250m at 2:00 pm by Ugno and Sherpa and then returned because not sufficient oxygen supply to carry on to top and not enough time. Hashimoto stopped at 8000m because fixed rope not above this altitude. Now climb finished because no rope, food and oxygen left for 2nd attack; had brought enough for only one summit bid.
