Set off from C4 together with Piotr Krzyzowski at 9 pm (China time), reached the summit at 12:30 pm (China time). Stayed on the top for 30 minutes, views were Ok, but there was a thunderstorm approaching. Last one on the summit that day. Not that cold, not much wind. Back to C4 for the night at 9 pm (China time). Next day down to BC. Left BC on 14/05 by Heli from BC to Dingboche. Other peaks: Attempted Lhotse afterwards No Sherpa support, no supplemental oxygen. Piotr Krzyzowski reached summit at around 11 am, also climbing without supplemental oxygen. Kamaldeep Kaur - 22 May 2025 Approach: Trekking to BC. BC 15/04 4800m ABC 16/04 5700m C1 27/04 6300m C2 28/04 6600m C3 08/05 7500m C4 -- 7750m Smt 10/05 by Kaur and Tendi Sherpa at 5:42 am. Between 16/04 and 21/04, Kaur reached crampon point before she decided to fly to Lukla to recover from her AMS symptoms. She stayed in Lukla for 4 days and returned to ABC around 25/04. On summit push, Kaur and Tendi Sherpa left C3 at 5:30 pm on 09/05. It was clear, not windy and not cold. She climbed in her mitten liners. Not many people on the route, however, they had to wait for a while to get to the summit for sunrise. They spent about 5 minutes on the summit and descended to C2 where they arrived in the early afternoon. Back to BC on 11/05. Left BC by helicopter to Lukla on 12/05, due to bad cough and loss of voice. Same day heli to Kathmandu. Oxygen: Taken and used from C2 to top to C2 by Kaur and Tendi Sherpa. Matthew Scholes - 7 May 2025 Approach: Trekking in Khumbu, heli from Namche to Hillary BC. ABC 21/04 5700m 23/04 5950m (Crampon Pt) C1 24/04 6300m C2 28/04 6600m C3 02/05 7500m C4 03/05 7750m Smt 04/05 at 12:42 by Scholes First rotation he reached 7300m on 25/04. On the second rotation he reached the Makalu La on 29/04, but did not stay there as it was too windy. He returned to C2 for another night and then BC. On 03/05 Scholes and a lot of other people left C4 at 8 pm. They were following the fixed line and at about 11 pm, the leading Sherpa decided to turn back as the fixed rope was too deep into the snow and they could not recover. Scholes was the only person to continue. He broke trail and it was shin deep in places. The climb was mixed climbing. Scholes recovered the fixed rope again just before the summit pyramid. He spent about 5 minutes and descended to C4 where he arrived at around 6 pm. He drank a bit and fell asleep for about 2 hours. When he woke up, he took off his boots and realised that he had frostbite on his toes (two on the left, and the tips of all toes on the right). He drank lots and tried to warm up his toes and slept till about 7 am and left C4 for ABC. He carried his own tent, which he dismantled and carried down. He arrived at ABC at 2 pm. Left BC by helicopter on 06/05 due to frostbite. On 06/05 he was picked up by helicopter and taken to Kathmandu where he was admitted to CIWEC. He is on Iloprost for thinning his blood. He stayed two nights in hospital and will continue this treatment for another three days. Sherpas above BC: 0 Oxygen: Not taken, not used Accident: Frostbite on both feet |
